Marketing Manager - Install

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for determining, overseeing and executing all marketing activity for HARMAN Professional Solution’s installed audio, video and lighting brands across EMEA. You will partner with the EMEA Marketing Director and the EMEA Heads of Audio, Video and Lighting to drive the commercial success of the category by leveraging your knowledge of the industry and our target customers to build awareness of our brands and a high level of engagement with our customers.

The successful candidate will be passionate about marketing and the results that effective marketing can bring to the business. You will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced culture of change, and able to think strategically and prioritize while paying careful attention to detail. To be successful in this role you must forge partnerships with multiple disciplines including Sales, Business Development, Global Marketing, Event Marketing, Digital Marketing, Creative Marketing, Product Segments, Sales Operations, Technical Services and Finance.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with EMEA Marketing Director and EMEA Heads of Audio, Video and Lighting to apply your deep understanding of the industry and our customers to drive the commercial success of the categories and determine the strategic priorities.
  • Proactively assess the marketing needs of the business, expertly advising on new ideas and initiatives to help support and drive business objectives and deliver robust marketing plans.
  • Ensure execution excellence for all marketing activities, working closely with channel & product teams as needed.
  • Work effectively with your marketing counterparts and other stakeholders as appropriate to deliver integrated 360 campaigns, directly managing execution on PR, Advertising, Content and leveraging Digital, Events and Creative teams to execute in these areas for your categories.
  • Work alongside other internal teams, including Sales, BD, Global PR, Global Marketing, Technical Services, to ensure seamless internal and external communication and manage external creative agencies and suppliers as required.
  • Collaborate closely with distribution partners to ensure seamless activation in all markets, share knowledge and measure effectiveness to help drive the transition from transactional to a partnership relationship with key customers.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Channel Sales to develop content strategy around in-market projects, applications and use cases and execute accordingly.
  • Deliver ROI, manage budgets, track KPIs and compile reports on marketing activities for senior stakeholders.
  • Drive improvements in CRM usage to better target marketing activity, driving ongoing efficiencies.
  • Leverage broad and powerful industry network to inform HARMAN’s category strategy, shape the marketing plan and feed insights back into the business.
  • Experience and/or contacts with AV trade publications to create and generate B2B trade press for Harman’s install category.
  • Prioritize business marketing requirements, finding efficiencies in processes and ensuring we manage business expectations.
  • Share knowledge and thought leadership to advance team’s thinking and incorporate best practices into ways of working to remove operational barriers, maximize productivity and drive team development.
  • Manage third party agencies to deliver to plan within agreed timelines and budget.
  • Contribute to building customer segmentation, target audience personas and ongoing improvements in the customer journey.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

What You Need:

  • Extensive B2B marketing experience, ideally in the AV and Lighting industry – your insights will allow us to excite and engage our customers.
  • Deep understanding of content marketing and CRM.
  • Proven ability to keep abreast of B2B marketing trends and best practice.
  • Quick learner with a growth mindset and track record of innovation and creative flair
  • Enthusiasm to educate broader organization about B2B marketing best practice, ability to influence key stakeholders to new approach and resilience to implement step-by-step approach to transforming B2B marketing.
  • Quick thinker with a “can do” attitude who can manage multiple work streams and prioritize according to the needs of the business.
  • Strong self-management skills, relentlessly curious and not afraid to ask questions; you want to learn and thrive within a fast-growing company.
  • Innovative problem-solver with an ability to “sell in” new ideas and keep people engaged through to delivery and beyond.
  • Outgoing, personable character adept at building an extensive network and creating collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proficient project management and organization skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Skilled in data-driven decision making.
  • International experience, comfortable working with many countries and different cultures.
  • Availability to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work at the Harman International office in Apsley
