POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Marketing Manager, Feedlot / Stocker will develop and execute marketing initiatives for the Cattle AIF portfolio (including leading brands such as DRAXXIN, EXCEDE and ADVOCIN). The Marketing Manager will be accountable for developing an annual operating plan (including quarterly targets) for the AIF portfolio and value-added services. He/she will be accountable for achieving the quarterly and yearly P&L operating plan for US Cattle AIFs, which includes execution against key strategic initiatives, and develop/lead the Lifecycle Strategy. The incumbent will become the internal marketing expert on the feedlot/stocker segment and work across the portfolio with other Marketing Managers and business unit leaders to leverage customer insights effectively. The Sr. Manager will maintain a high level of interaction with relevant Zoetis functional areas such as Technical Services, Sales, Finance, and Marketing Agencies to ensure strategy and tactics were included into the comprehensive approach of the overall AIF portfolio. In this position he/she will be responsible for managing the A&P assigned budget, ensuring proper resource allocation, and leading the development of content by working closely with Marketing Communications/Coordinators.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish, oversee and implement the Cattle AIF portfolio marketing strategies programs to support the short, middle and long-term growth and defense of the Zoetis AIF Portfolio. Provide clear direction to and actively engage with cross functional teams to build and maintain a robust product and services pipeline that ensures a solid competitive advantage and meets Cattle Customer needs. Rigorously monitor and gather key customer insights, competitive activities and market insights to incorporate into effective marketing strategies. Responsible to lead, develop and execute product launches and loss of exclusivity strategies. Ensures key stakeholder alignment, resource allocation, accurate forecasts and clear KPIs for marketing metric reports. Accountable for Op Plan input and follow up from the financial and strategic perspective. Responsible for the anti-infective forecasting; working with manufacturing teams on accurately forecasting on monthly and annual demand planning bases and ensuring consistent product supply.

Responsible to become the internal marketing expert on the feedlot/stocker segment, with the need to work across the portfolio with other Marketing Managers and business unit leaders to leverage customer insights effectively. This will require collaboration and communication with key sales and technical personnel, customers / customer groups and other key stakeholders.

The manager must work with the Marketing Communications Managers and Agencies to deliver proper communication content and marketing materials with a focus on digital. Responsible for management of the assigned A&P budget. Accountable for meeting quarterly and annual A&P budget targets. Accountable for the timely development of quality marketing activation plans and timely delivery of high quality, cost effective promotional tools and materials for distribution to field sales representatives. Manage and maintain ongoing relationship with the Beef Industry relevant institutions to ensure Zoetis representation and that key customer insights are incorporated into effective marketing strategies.

Oversee marketing agency deliverables, as well as other external suppliers, to ensure partner capabilities and effectiveness meet the teams needs and work and resources are deployed appropriately. Actively identifying synergies and efficiencies across Cattle & Equine franchise teams and other business units and provide a unique One Zoetis view that helps identify new opportunities, challenges and innovations as they relate to keep Zoetis in a leadership position in the market. As a leader within Zoetis, the candidate should model Zoetis values and leader behaviors and conduct business in a manner consistent with those values and behaviors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • BS or BA required (communications or business). MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Professional:

  • 5+ years of related commercial, marketing or cattle Industry relationship experience required.
  • Animal health, pharmaceutical and/or agricultural experience preferred.
  • Computer experience: Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Acrobat Pro; SAP.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Excellent marketing operations and marketing communications skills and knowledge. Demonstrated budget management acumen. Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver high performance and quality on deadline. Demonstrated ability to provide innovative and efficient solutions to deliver programs and initiatives that meet marketing objectives and business strategies. Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams. Proven track record successfully leading new product launches. Proven ability to think strategically and act decisively. Must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, accountability and willingness to accept challenges and lead change.
