Department 02160 - School of Business M + C Job Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer evaluates client needs, conceptualizes ideas, and creates innovative visual designs to elevate the look and feel of the David Eccles School of Business. They report to the Senior and Associate Directors of the Branding, Marketing, and Communications team at the David Eccles School of Business.

This position will work closely with content creators to design and produce the Eccles Experience Magazine and other promotional collateral—digital and print—for the Eccles School. They will collaborate with account leaders and the creative team (including another Senior Graphic Designer and Web Specialist).

A successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project within project timelines.

  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business and marketing goals.
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
  • Obtain input from account leaders to ensure that designs meet organizational, departmental, and Eccles School standards.
  • Work independently as well as cooperatively within the marketing team to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); five years of related experience and a portfolio at the time of the interview; demonstrated effective communication skills; the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.
