ROLE PURPOSE

The Manager of Apple Procurement will fill a key role within the Apple Procurement organization. This position will have primary responsibility for leading and developing a team to define and implement the sourcing management strategy for Asurion. This position will lead a team that oversees the end to end process of ordering and purchase order payments to ensure all product is ordered and paid on time. In addition, this position will have a leadership role in the relationship management of external suppliers; including but not limited to delivery, quality cost and overall business performance. Objectives include development of strategic and tactical solutions to optimize the procurement functions and to drive performance based on business impacting metrics and service level agreements. The Manager will also be responsible for coordinating several initiatives across internal Asurion departments and supplier contacts. 

The candidate must be employee and customer centric, self-sufficient and be able to balance the demands of delivering results in the short term while helping steer the Company in delivering on its long-term business model. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develops and manages a high performing team that partners with suppliers, internal customers and other supply chain departments to provide procurement solutions for the business. 
  • Responsible for continuous improvement within procurement and other internal teams that support operational efficiencies and cost reduction. 
  • Responsible to build strong and reliable system solutions that automate operational work as much as possible. 
  • Leads a team that is responsible for best-in-class supplier performance through the use of balanced scorecards, compliance requirements, daily or weekly communication, MBRs and QBRs. 
  • Establish and sustain strong customer relationship management through effective communication and support for all internal customers. 
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as demand planning, operations, quality, engineering and finance to effectively drive accurate material forecasting, purchasing, receiving, compliance and standardized processes that enable continuity of supply, reduces E&O exposure, lowers material cost, ensures compliance and allows Asurion to pay invoices on-time. 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all departments at Apple. Gains understanding of Apple’s internal supply chain processes and uses this information to benefit the overall Asurion supply chain. 
  • Manage weekly and monthly data to monitor supplier performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and create competition. Works hand in hand with internal teams to ensure suppliers are performing and kept cost competitive. 
  • Operational activities of procurement management include communicating and resolving daily issues between internal organizations and suppliers, leading weekly cross-functional team calls to cover open issues, actively working/monitoring quality and performance issues. 
  • Must be able to build strong internal relationships and be able to work collectively/collaboratively across the organization. 
  • Coach and mentor the team to continuously improve performance. Evaluate individual and team performance against agreed objectives and appropriate feedback. 
  • Manage and execute regular RFI/RFP/RFQ processes to drive competition. 
  • Maintain a high level of morale and energy and ability to point to previous experiences where they have “energized” a team to perform and deliver against stretch expectations. 
  • Ability to establish a high degree of accountability across their organization through both performance measurement and clear communications. 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to deliver strategic messages to senior leadership level positions. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A proven track record of academic and professional excellence. 
  • BS/BA Degree or Minimum 5+ years in supply chain or procurement related role. MBA Preferred.  
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and O365.
