Position Overview

The Coordinator of Student Enrollment and Recruitment at KIPP St. Louis plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our student body by driving effective recruitment and enrollment strategies. Reporting to the Director of Student Enrollment and Recruitment, this position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive plans in coordination with internal and external stakeholders to effectively recruit new students, seamlessly transition applicants through the enrollment process, and bolster the re-enrollment of current students in order to achieve KIPP’s student enrollment goals. This position may require travel between the regional office, schools, and community events on a regular basis.

KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, we will educate nearly 3,600 students and hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school. 

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enrollment Strategy Support: Implement comprehensive plans for student recruitment and enrollment, including effective communication of the plan to key stakeholders and progress monitoring to ensure timely implementation.
  • Guidance to Teams: Provide guidance to school-based enrollment teams, regional leaders, and enrollment and recruitment support staff in the implementation of strategies to meet enrollment targets.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze recruitment and enrollment data, using insights to drive recommendations and guidance for the adaptation of strategies so that KIPP St. Louis reaches its student enrollment goals for every school.
  • Recruitment and Marketing Strategy Development: Research recruitment strategies and contribute to the development of KIPP St. Louis’ current student recruitment plan, including developing marketing and communication campaigns to recruit students in collaboration with the communications team. Provide content for social media that is engaging and gets families excited about KIPP. Ensure all marketing materials are consistent and aligned to the KIPP St. Louis brand and messaging.
  • Recruitment Strategy Implementation: Drive the implementation of recruitment strategies, including organizing campaigns such as new family open houses, mailers, phone calls, or canvassing in the community. Communicate with prospective families to engage them in KIPP’s mission. Ensure that KIPP St. Louis has enough student applications at every school for the operations team to convert and enroll successfully. 
  • System and Process Management: Manage, implement backend systems to help lead innovative recruitment efforts.
  • Lead Cultivation: Design and execute strategies to cultivate leads, including planning and attending local events to reach prospective families; ensure there is a comprehensive plan for coverage and clear directions to stakeholders for any events that cannot be attended. Guide potentially interested families from initial inquiry through submitted application.
  • Applicant Engagement: Routinely reach out to prospective and newly accepted families, keeping them informed and excited about KIPP through various communication channels, including phone calls, school tours, and newsletters. 
  • Community Engagement: Develop partnerships with current and prospective student pipelines (community organizations, daycares, schools, etc.) and present to groups about KIPP St. Louis. Network and build relationships with existing families and staff to recruit friends and family members in order to access their local networks to support recruitment goals. Collaborate with KIPP family engagement staff around identifying ways to reach more families.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experiences

  • At least 2 years of recruitment and/or enrollment management experience or sales experience (Highly desired)
  • Education or non profit experience preferred 
  • Bilingual (Desired) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and project-manage system-wide strategies. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and dedication to the KIPP St. Louis mission.

Education Level: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
