We are looking for a Construction Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design of both temporary and permanent civil, structural, and mechanical systems that support the construction activities. A Professional Engineer license (PE) is a requirement for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work and communicate effectively with external entities such as clients, owners, vendors, and consultants as well as internal entities such as other design engineers, the CAD department, and field personnel to develop safe, economical, and appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Be the primary point of contact between project sites and the Design Engineering group.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in one of the following States and the ability to obtain licensing in others: Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia.
  • 3+ years of design experience with engineering materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and aluminum.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with the detailed engineering design of:
  • Structural capacity analysis, shoring systems, cofferdams, piping systems, lift rigging, excavation plans, slope stability, foundations, as well as a variety of other engineered systems.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Excel and Word, AutoCAD, RISA-3D, and other software utilized in engineering design.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills are required.
