This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an SLM Assay Application Service Consultant you will be responsible for:

  • Representing the global service organization on new assay development teams, as well as providing service lifecycle support for IMMULITE immunoassays and Syva drug testing assays in the Specialty Lab Solutions business line.
  • Producing all relevant assay service deliverables to support a new assay launch or applications on a new instrument launch.
  • Providing service functional expertise for assay design, service documentation, education content, assay trend codes, assay troubleshooting content, and the release of assay updates or new assays.
  • Advocate for IMMULITE and Syva field Applications personnel on new assay development teams, representing tasks performed by Applications personnel in the field, such as clinical education, method validation, go-live support, and assay troubleshooting. 
  • Communicating clinical utility of new assays to service groups in headquarters, regions, and countries; responsible for facilitating best practice sharing on IMMULITE and Syva assays across the service organization.
  • Performing analysis of global service metrics and assay performance trends and presenting to service teams, product teams, and other business line teams. You will promote serviceability and clinical assay expertise across business level functions.
  • Leading Service Element Teams in defining the assay service concept, application services strategy, and coordinating knowledge transfer to other service groups in headquarters, regions and countries.
  • Other additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Medical Technology, or comparable education.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of Industry experience; including experience with IMMULITE and/or Syva systems and assays, or experience with other immunoassay systems or drugs of abuse testing systems.
  • Experience working in the clinical diagnostics laboratory, and/or as an Applications specialist in the lab diagnostics industry.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skilled collaborator with stakeholders both within and outside of the service organization, including Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, or Quality. Ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery. 
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 20%, both within the USA and internationally.
