Summary of Job Description: 

The Senior Corporate Events Planning Manager works with company event sponsors, volunteers, and corporate and Operations staff to plan and execute all corporate events, including the Leaders Conference, golf tournament, and other company meetings and events. This position assists with selection of event location and vendors, establishes and monitors event budgets, and works with SC staff to prepare event communications, program materials and handouts, registration process, etc. The Senior Corporate Events Planning Manager attends events to ensure smooth operation and oversees post-event activities, including reports and presentations to leadership to assess event effectiveness and provide the basis for future event planning.

You’ll get a chance to: 

  • Work closely with the event sponsors to identify and document the goals of each corporate event, the event budget, and event themes.
  • Recruit a team of company volunteers to assist in planning and executing each event.
  • Assist in securing event sponsorship agreements if needed.
  • Research potential event locations and vendors (hotel, travel, etc.) and present alternatives to the event sponsors.
  • May involve national travel to determine most appropriate event site and vendors.
  • Work with event sponsors on the selection process, providing advice on site selection, food and bar menus, décor, and entertainment.
  • Develop detailed budget based on the logistics for the event (room selection, audio visual needs, speaker acquisition, food and beverage).
  • Negotiate contracts with selected vendors.
  • Work with appropriate SC staff to ensure insurance, health and safety standards are met and risk is mitigated.
  • Prepare communications about events for distribution to associates.
  • Works with SC departments (IS, Marketing, etc.) to set up registration process and develop event signage, program materials, and handouts.
  • Creates schedule of all event activities.
  • Attend all corporate events to ensure the events are successful and meet event goals and sponsors’ and associates’ expectations.
  • Resolve any issues occurring during the events, enlisting the support of the event sponsors and volunteers as well as site staff.
  • Coordinate with event vendors on site. Manage budget during and after the event, ensuring that the event costs are within budget.
  • Review and approve all event invoices and ensures they are paid on a timely basis.
  • Manage post-event activities, including post-event surveys and input from event sponsors.
  • Produce reports on the event outcomes and learnings as the basis for future event planning.

Pay Range : M3: $127,000 - $178,500 / Annual * Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience. 

Qualifications

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
  • Minimum ten years of experience in corporate events planning or in an events planning firm, with increasing management/project management experience
  • Events planning certification preferred
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required training
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
  • If hired, successful completion of annual store training
