The Business Development Representative position is responsible for generating leads and setting appointments for the Business Development team and assisting with proposal and coordination.

Essential Functions:

  • Prospect, qualify and generate sales through cold calling.
  • Contact potential clients through, but not limited to, phone calls, email, mailings, and seminars to set appointments for the Business Development team.
  • Manage, track, and follow up on leads.
  • Collaborate with marketing and account management to facilitate new programs, messages, and campaigns.
  • Responsible for proposals coordination, including some proposal generation and proposal submittals.
  • Read, prepare, and analyze data for development / status of reports. Necessary Skills and Abilities:
  • Persuasive selling abilities.
  • Superior knowledge of accessing and using the Internet and MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong desktop publishing abilities.
  • Possess the soft skills needed to negotiate with others when in difficult situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

Associates degree or higher in a business or scientific discipline (Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field).

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum one year at current position.
  • Positive rating on Performance Appraisal by supervisor or manager.
  • Proficiency in the established requirements for the next position.
