We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Project Engineering to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Engineering Support To Operations (ESTO) team to provide production and field support for our operational commercial engine components.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE

This position is for a Project Engineering professional working with limited support. Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

  • Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations
  • Supports in the preparation of status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management
  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work
  • Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements
  • Supports Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution
  • Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met
  • Support in the execution of risks assessments and mitigation plans 
  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects
  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives

OTHER MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required
  • Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools and support AS9100 efforts
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company
  • Support project management activities

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years prior engineering experience

OR

  • Master’s Degree in a related field and 6+ years of prior relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
  • Previous gas turbine experience
  • Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project or other scheduling software
  • The ability to craft clear communication and build positive relationships
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent at promoting teamwork

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel up to 10%
