Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced growth-company powerhouse to maintain the financial records of our fast-growing, purpose-driven company. As the Staff Accountant, you will work with our Accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.

The Staff Accountant will be highly self- motivated, always professional, and able to prioritize your function’s workload in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You have to be a smart, strategic thinker and a tactical executer and drive success through innovation and creative thinking.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams and gain an intimate understanding of business operations
  • Process Accounts Receivable/Payable to ensure cash is recorded in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
  • Manage expense report compliance and bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist in bringing the books to the trial balance stage and verify that transactions are recorded correctly
  • Complete tax forms and other ad-hoc reporting

Professional qualifications include:

  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. Recent Grads welcome to apply. 
  • History at VC/PE-backed fast-paced early-stage biotech or Healthcare company or 1-2 years of experience at a public audit firm is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Proficient in MS Office with experience using accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • CPA or progress toward completion of CPA desired
