Interior Designer(s) (full-time; multiple positions available) needed to work in Chicago, IL to participate in marketing (proposals for new projects and interviews) and business development efforts for new commercial interior design projects. Create conceptual design packages for feasibility studies, projects, and competitions. Lead and direct team members on the development of design throughout schematic and design development phases. Formulate approach to design presentations and work with team members to develop presentation content. Present design concepts to clients. Incorporate feedback into design updates. Research artistic and technical issues. Participate in selection of color palette, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey design concepts, and to meet functional, socio-psychological and safety requirements. Collaborate with design team and develop solutions that are coordinated through the construction documentation phase of a project. Provision of contract documents to facilitate pricing, procurement and installation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E). Assist licensed architect in validating and facilitating design decisions via technology tools such as 3D design, physical mock-up, and virtual reality. Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes and lighting.

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design or related field, plus four (4) years of related interior design experience with all of the following:

(1) Test fitting, space planning, pre-design and design experience for hospitality, mixed use, entertainment, and residential clients;

(2) 2D/3D modeling in 3-D Studio Max; AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Vectorworks, Lumion, Unreal Engine, and Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffect, Premiere);

(3) Translating an architect's sketches and CAD documents into realized 3D models and images for large scale mixed-use retail, hospitality, and residential programming;

(4) Producing design presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings;

(5) Using InDesign and Illustrator to create client presentations conveying

overall design concept and design development;

(6) Coordinating with architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), lighting, and structural consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall design objectives;

(7) Designing interiors for hospitality, mixed-use retail, residential and entertainment projects;

(8) Conducting site visits to ensure builder compliance with design

specifications and advise on design corrections.

Must have valid NCIDQ License. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Incidental telecommuting may apply.
