We are currently searching for a Managing Director to join our high performing ATS team in Los Angeles. We offer a hybrid (remote/onsite) work environment that will allow you to continue working with the flexibility that they have grown accustomed to over the past year, while also continuing to provide onsite service to our fantastic clients. There is local travel throughout Los Angeles only.

Responsibilities:

  • Building a highly skilled team that is equally talented in IQ and EQ to service the New York market to ensure clients in technology, media and consumer products industries are provided with high-value solutions
  • Services provided to our outstanding clients include: IPO Readiness (S-1 prep, communicating filing requirements), financial and SEC reporting (public and private disclosure/reporting requirements); technical accounting research and implementation; mergers and acquisitions (due diligence, purchase price allocation, post transaction support and integration); project advisory services (PMO needs, analysis, requirements planning and technical assistance)
  • Expanding our client base in New York through superior networking in the local area
  • Negotiating the scope of the work, bill rates and budgets for recurring projects at existing clients
  • Assisting the Partner group on an "as needed project basis" with the overall firm operations which include Human Resources, IT, Accounting, Scheduling and Recruiting
  • Directing strategic technical accounting advisory engagements and lead multi-disciplinary teams serving clients in the technology, media and consumer products industries
  • Serving as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to advise clients on complex technical accounting issues
  • Overseeing successful project completion by prioritizing director, manager and senior associate level tasks.
  • Responding to client needs and balancing the competing priorities with minimal client disruptions, while maintaining project progress
  • Demonstrating clear and concise writing, and verbal skills to communicate complex issues in simple terms to clients and team members
  • Producing quality deliverables evidenced through minimal review time and review notes
  • Actively improving technical and project management skills through on the job feedback, performance evaluations, mentoring and firm-sponsored formal training programs including monthly CPE and Subject Matter Expert (SME) training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university in a related field, MBA, or graduate degree
  • Minimum of 12 years experience with either:
  • 10 years external/internal public accounting or advisory plus 2 years of industry experience
  • OR
  • 12 years in public accounting
  • Deep accounting and transaction advisory experience from a top-tier public accounting firm or a reputable in-house corporate environment
  • Preferred certifications: CPA, Chartered Accountant
  • High quality existing relationships with executive ranks (CFO, CEO, COO,CAO, VP of Audit, VP Finance, VP Accounting, Controllers and related) in technology, media or consumer products firms
  • Project management, including development of project charters and plans; management of project execution and successful implementation of the planned solution
  • Hands on experience in process definition, workflow design and process mapping
  • Execute and operate in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with the ability to quickly adapt to unexpected changes in timelines, deadlines and scope of work
  • Experience with technical accounting especially in the area of revenue recognition, equity issues, consolidation, derivatives, fair value measurements, EPS, acquisitions, inventory and share based payments
  • Ability to research extensively including summarizing new and emerging technical issues
  • Demonstrated record of leadership and effective management in a growing professional services organization; executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on engagements
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the local market

Pay and Benefits:

  • 40-50 hour work week
  • Training events to ensure CPE compliance

  • Base Pay $201,000-$250,000
