Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Pylon Building Group. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial and accounting aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction accounting and a deep understanding of industry-specific financial practices.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

Accounting Operations:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
  • Review and reconcile financial statements, ledgers, and accounts to maintain data integrity.
  • Oversee project-based accounting processes, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and project budget management.

Financial Reporting & Internal Controls:

  • Generate accurate and comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and project-specific financial analyses.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to executive management and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Work with parent company on consolidation accounting and intercompany transactions.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate audits and collaborate with external parties to provide necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement & Technology:

  • Identify opportunities to establish and enhance accounting processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to adapt processes accordingly.
  • Proficiently use accounting software and construction-specific software tools to manage financial data and project information effectively.

Education, Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree and/or CPA or CCIFP designation is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in construction accounting or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry financial practices, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and project-based accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
