Position Overview:

The Assistant Vice President of Business intelligence will be responsible for managing and providing leadership on various key BI systems and services that includes Tableau Cloud, Alteryx and SAP Business Object. Assistant Vice President will provide people and technology leadership and expand and optimize the data visualization and analytics capabilities. Assistant Vice President will have extensive experience with Tableau Data Sources, Extracts, Data Visualizations, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau cloud, Tableau Mobile, Tableau Reader, Tableau Prep, Tableau Bridge, SQL Query, SAP Business Objects administration, Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Intelligence suite and Alteryx Server. AVP will work closely with the business stakeholders, data engineers, operations engineers, delivery managers and IT teams across the company to support data visualization and analytics strategy. AVP will also ensure optimal system performance and architecture. The Assistant Vice President will also be working with DevOps engineers and build CI/CD pipeline for Infrastructure as Code for automated deployment of BI systems and services. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong leadership capability, technical ability, data capability, excellent communication, and collaboration skills including the ability to develop and troubleshoot a diverse range of problems. 

Job Description:

  • Perform the role of Tableau Cloud site administrator by creating and maintaining the framework that enables Tableau Desktop users in organization to publish, share, manage, and connect to data sources and workbooks
  • Perform the role of Tableau data manager who creates and publishes data sources to Tableau Cloud, monitor usage of published data sources and workbooks, the success of extract refresh tasks, user activity
  • Alteryx Server Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining the Alteryx Server, ensuring its reliability and performance.
  • SAP Business Object Server Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining the Business Object Server, ensuring its reliability and performance.
  • User Management: Managing user access, permissions, and roles on all BI systems and Server, ensuring proper authentication and authorization.
  • Setting up repositories, users, and security management.
  • Develop complex SQL code for reporting
  • Proactively manage and monitor the quality of our data.
  • Strengthen security and audit practices.
  • Provide support for Tableau Desktop 2022.x/2020.x/2019.x/2018.x/10.x, Tableau Server, Tableau cloud, Tableau Mobile, Tableau Reader, and Tableau Prep.
  • Provide support for Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Intelligence suite and Alteryx Server
  • Provide support for SAP BO Server and Webi Rich client
  • Performs data visualization, Reporting, Analysis, Pie Charts Bar Charts, Cross Map, Scatter Plots, Geographic Map, Page Trails and Density Chart in Tableau Desktop.
  • Configure BI Server to use an external identity provider (IDP) for authentication using SAML 2.0.
  • Design security architecture by customizing the access levels and creating various user groups by assigning row and column level security application level, folder level and user level.
  • Responsible for setting up Distributed Server environments for optimum load balancing.
  • Setup efficient load balancing techniques to manage the load on the server for concurrent user logins.
  • Create automated scripts for tableau workbook refresh when not using live connections.
  • Responsible for maintenance and monitoring of BI systems using maintenance tools and monitoring tools and start/stop services and maintain statuses.
  • Responsible for setting up LDAPS for authentication on Linux tableau server.
  • Develop key metrics, uncover vital insights and deliver critical analysis that will lead to data-informed decisions and guide business strategy.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, department heads and teammates to use data to drive the success of the organization.
  • Influence decisions made at the highest levels of the company and utilize expertise to create descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics and reporting solutions that bring data to life through visualizations and storytelling.
  • Be a member of a dynamic team working on a wide variety of challenging projects across the entire organization and will be instrumental in providing the insights and decision support that fuel our company’s continued success and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Tableau administration and data management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Alteryx administration
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Business Object administration
  • Experience with AWS technologies – AWS EC2, ECS, VPC, S3, RDS, Redshift
  • Experience with advanced Business Intelligence, data science, statistical analysis, enterprise reporting, business object and ETL.
  • Knowledge of best practices including administration, security and clustering for Tableau, Alteryx and SAP BO
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Experience with Agile software development using JIRA
  • Experience in multiple OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux and Windows systems
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) and query performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of the Incident Response life-cycle
  • Knowledge of the change management life-cycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

The base salary range for this role is

$110,000—$209,500 USD
