OVERVIEW

Interns will work closely with FleishmanHillard account staff to execute public relations and social media responsibilities on behalf of local, national and international clients. Responsibilities will include supporting monitoring/reporting, conducting research, developing and writing media materials, assisting with social media content/strategy, and fielding requests as appropriate.

Skill Building:

Hands-on instruction to an agency environment including:

  • A basic knowledge of how to work with print and electronic media
  • Specialized writing skills such as news releases, media advisories, pitch letters and other media materials
  • Exposure to project coordination and execution
  • Exposure to account management and program development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have completed their junior year of college with a focus in journalism, public relations, communications, English or a similar major. Ideal candidates will be available for three full days in the office.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $18.00-$20 an hour.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
