NeoGenomics is looking for a Biomedical Technician I based out of our lab in Fort Myers, FL who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. 

Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Position Summary: 

The biomedical equipment technician role is responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment throughout the laboratory. Utilizing a work order system, the technician will perform planned maintenance, repairs, and electrical safety checks on a multitude of devices and maintain documentation showing compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Complete PM, repairs, and installation qualifications as assigned
  • Calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting equipment
  • Inspect new laboratory equipment for safe installation and operation
  • Assist laboratory professionals in good equipment practices
  • Maintain good documenting practices on all equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain continuing education on all appropriate equipment and testing devices
  • Effectively communicates all maintenance or building related events to affected personnel
  • Provide operational knowledge to staff to improve the use of biomedical equipment
  • Identify trends, unusual activity, and repeated activity and report to management to assist in continuously improving the department
  • Make recommendations to department leadership for product or system improvements, including procedural steps, additional training, and/or documentation enhancements
  • Travel: As required to complete projects at other Neo Sites. Estimated to be 8 weeks a year.

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certifications a plus
  • 1+ years’ experience in a related field in similar environment with degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in a related field in similar environment without degree
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
