As a member of the Cymer Light Source DUV Test Engineering team you will be a key resource driving the integration and testing of complex systems in support of DUV research and development as well as the qualification of key optical, mechanical and electrical modules and sub-systems.

Job Description

  • Participate in the design, characterization, and system integration of new design concepts and system features for Cymer DUV lasers.
  • Define test plans to validate design verification, reliability, in-circuit-testing and functional testing based upon design documents.
  • Produce clear, concise documentation in defined Cymer formats.
  • Set up standard optical table and diagnostic equipment according to general instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate problems in laboratory equipment.
  • Use sophisticated computer programs and diagnostic equipment to test laser performance according to descriptive instructions.
  • Perform optical alignment of laser systems or external diagnostic equipment based upon general instructions.
  • Collect and analyze technical data, summarizes results, and prepare presentation of results for review.
  • Interface with software, systems, algorithm, and electrical engineers to ensure successful software and hardware integration.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Optics, Physics or other Physical Sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the semiconductor, aerospace, or other related industries. 
  • Experience with engineering data collection, statistical analysis, as well as creation and delivery technical summary reports. 
  • General knowledge of LASERs (knowledge of excimer laser operation preferred).

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power meters with little to no direction.
  • Ability to use optical measurement devices such as spectrometers, spectrophotometers, imaging setups, etc. on a routine basis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, maintenance manuals and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to use data acquisition & processing software such as LabVIEW, Python or Matlab.
  • Good oral presentation skills and ability to effectively present results in team meetings.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.
  • Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Result driven personality with high sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, California. It requires daily onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $92,625-$154,375. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
