Sr Technical Writer, Documentation Team

About the Role

In this opportunity as Sr Technical Writer, you will:

  • Learn, understand and translate your knowledge into consumable content – As part of your day-to-day role you must be able to use the software we are documenting and communicate your understanding of the product via a document or other various formats for our end users to learn from
  • Work with various stakeholders to gather content – work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, value diverse ideas and partner with cross functional and remote teams
  • Have the ability to process large volumes of information and prioritise what is important – Our team is expanding and we are taking on multiple products to document. So, an ability to prioritise and manage large amounts of work is key
  • Be an Effective Communicator – articulate complex technical issues, share ideas and exhibit strong listening skills
  • Be comfortable learning new tools – We strive to put out the best content. That may mean using new tools and technology, meaning you’ll have to be comfortable working with and learning these new pieces of software
  • Experience writing video scripts – Our team also produces video content and sometimes we may have to produce a video script to create a video from
  • Ensure quality control - Our team in Hyderabad will be regularly producing content and the senior writer in the team will have a responsibility to ensure all of that content is of a high standard
  • Be able to help and guide more junior members - As the senior in the team in Hyderabad, you will need to have the experience to guide more junior members of the team, if necessary

About You

You're a fit for the role of Technical Writer if your background includes:

  • A learning and development background
  • Experience with DITA authoring
  • A content creation background (learning, training, tutorials etc.)
  • Experience working with cross functional and remote teams
  • An eagerness to learn and willingness to take initiatives
  • The ability to work with complex software and be able to break it down into documents; help guides, user guides, FAQs etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Adobe Experience Manager or equivalent, SnagIT and similar products
  • Past experience using Google Analytics, Advisor and Seismic is advantageous
  • The ability to pick up and use in house technologies in your day-to-day work
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Have experience as a senior technical writer in a team of writers
