The Senior IT Security Operations Engineer designs, implements and operates security operations technologies and processes to detect and respond to Cyber threats. 

What you’ll do

Design, build, test, improve, operate and support the IT security operations infrastructure and associated processes:

  • Engineer, deploy and operate Security Information Event Management (SIEM) and sensor infrastructure solutions, perform threat hunting activities, deploy and operate security operations hardware / software as required
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve security infrastructure issues
  • Interact with business partners and provide IT security engineering, operational support, design services and incident/risk mitigation
  • Participate in the 24x7 on- call support rotation
  • Implement solutions or updates to existing technologies and develop / maintain documentation related to the network security technologies and processes

What you need to succeed

This position requires experience in deploying and operating Security Information and Event management systems, sensors and log collection and analysis tools to detect and respond to Cyber threats in medium to large organizations. 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cyber Security or related Computer Science program
  • IT risk and security certifications are a plus: CCFA, CCFH, CISSP, GIAC or similar

Experience Requirements

  • 5 plus years of experience in IT Security Operations and Incident response and/or threat hunting practices
  • Experience in the administration and management of strong security architectures that protect networks from threats and vulnerabilities

Skills & Competency Requirements

  • Required: knowledge of SIEM and log correlation technologies and tools (Microsoft Sentinel) and SOC processes
  • Preferred: CrowdStrike, Zscaler and Qualys implementation and operational experience
  • Strong understanding of performing in-depth analysis of suspected incidents, including identifying details such as origin, extent, implications and impact
  • Experience in tuning and optimization of Cybersecurity tools, such as EDR, SIEM and Security Orchestration and Response (SOAR)
  • Strong understanding of networking infrastructure concepts, technologies, protocols, and solutions
  • Experience in leading, implementing and supporting security engineering projects
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively cooperate and communicate with business partners
  • Ability to respond to security incidents and execute consistent improvements in processes to identify, detect and prevent threats to the IT environment 

Compensation Details:

$98400 - $123000 per year
