The Position

Join our team of experienced Global Medical Affairs Leads in Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMA) at Roche Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) to work with the International Business team for Foundation Medicine on the development and commercialization of Comprehensive Genomic Profiling, molecular diagnostics and integrated healthcare solutions. Essential Functions of the role include the following:

  • Strong subject matter expertise in cancer biology, translational medicine, targeted therapeutics, and/or large-scale genomic data analysis
  • Prepare, research, summarize, and lead discussion of genomic findings for chosen clinical cases to support the Molecular Tumor Board Program (MTBs) with cross-functional teams. Interpret genomic results within the context of tumor biology and precision medicine and serve as a genomics expert during the MTBs. Provide follow-up when necessary.
  • Provide leadership in developing Global Medical Plans, defining the medical objectives for integrated evidence generation, investigator-initiated studies, collaborations, and medical communications, and executing medical activities, including advisory boards, scientific symposia, independent or sponsored medical education or training events, and testing access programs.
  • Build strong partnerships and impactful collaborations with global thought leaders, investigators, academic networks, and professional societies to bring insights, expertise and know-how for delivering innovative study designs and medical value solutions.
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional leaders, stakeholders and alliance partners in meeting business goals and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Contribute to analyzing medical and scientific literature and clinical outcomes to facilitate effective communication within and outside the organization.
  • Work with the publications team to develop a plan for scientific communications. Write or edit manuscripts. Prepare abstracts, posters, and presentations for regional, national or international scientific meetings.
  • Develop, review, and update scientific and clinical content for products’ launches or extensions including presentations, websites, brochures, reports and training programs.
  • Plan and manage the budget in collaboration with Project teams and Finance.

Required experience and skills:

  • Advanced degree in Biomedical Sciences (MD and/or PhD) or board-certified Medical Oncologist or Pathologist with extensive knowledge and expertise in diagnostics and personalized healthcare in oncology and 8+ years of relevant industry experience. 
  • Self-directed with a proven track record of leading in a global and cross-cultural matrix, strategic decision-making, systems thinking, flexibility, and adaptability to perform in a complex and rapidly evolving environment. 
  • Deep understanding of legal and regulatory considerations impacting the healthcare, diagnostics, pharma, and biotech industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% nationally or internationally.
