As a Service Asset Configuration Management - Engineer on the ITSM Team, you’ll play a pivotal role and be responsible for managing and maintaining the service assets and configuration items. Your primary role is to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about the organization's assets, configurations, and relationships between them.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintaining the SACM framework: Utilize processes, policies, and procedures for managing service assets and configurations.
  • Configuration Management Database (CMDB) management: Oversee the CMDB and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Maintain configuration item records, relationships, and attributes in the CMDB.
  • Configuration identification: Identify and define the configuration items (CIs) to be included in the CMDB. Ensure that CIs are properly classified and labeled for easy identification.
  • Configuration control: Enforce change control processes to manage changes to CIs. Review and approve or reject proposed changes based on the impact assessment.
  • Configuration verification and audit: Conduct regular audits to validate the accuracy and integrity of the CMDB data. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Release and deployment management: Collaborate with the release and deployment teams to ensure that new and updated CIs are correctly identified, recorded, and deployed.
  • Continuous improvement: Continuously assess and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of SACM processes. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of Asset Management experience in medium/large enterprise environment
  • Acute awareness of the Asset Management Lifecycle (hardware, software, and service assets).
  • Extensive knowledge of technologies supporting asset management processes including asset security, control, and auditing
  • Knowledge and experience in the following technologies: Jira Insight, Jira Service Manager, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Licensing, Apple Device Management, SCCM, Intune, Ivanti, JAMF, infrastructure and client hardware/software
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Resourceful, takes the initiative to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Works well in a team environment and is comfortable with a fast-paced environment, switching priorities, and multitasking.
  • Bachelors degree required
