SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Hospital Design Renovation Project Manager to join our team. This full-time role will primarily work on-site. 

Purpose of this position: Provide creative design and construction project management oversight to renovate hospital and clinic facilities to modern and innovative spaces focusing on safety, patient experience, community, and the availability of care services. Develops and manages a project team that includes project stakeholders, facilities, architects and engineers, interior design, IS&T, infection prevention, safety, construction, and finance professionals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to lead all phases (scope, schedule, budget, activation, closeout, warranty) of the project delivery process for renovation, equipment replacement, and new construction projects. 

  • Leads pre-design, design, construction, and space activation for hospital and clinic projects
  • Develops design standards, space allocations, scope, estimates, and schedules to meet the goals of the organization
  • Manages the project team to meet goals related to project scope, budgets, schedule, quality, and safety
  • Develops estimates for annual capital planning efforts
  • Partners effectively with Facilities Management, Campus Development, Safety, and Infection departments throughout the project delivery process
  • Manages a project team to provide a seamless delivery process across a variety of buildings and spaces
  • Daily oversite of design and construction teams
  • Clearly communicates project goals and status for stakeholders and facilities management
  • Assists with negotiating service contracts, issuing purchase orders, and paying invoices to manage the budget for each project
  • Ensures life safety measures and infection prevention methods are adhered to daily
  • Effective in working with hospital administration; giving presentations and providing clear project updates

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or associate degree in architecture, interior design, construction, or facilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CAD or Revit experience
  • Certified Healthcare Constructor or similar certification
  • Five years of experience in design, engineering, construction, or project management
  • Experience in design and construction activities for hospital or clinic buildings
  • Experience in working with Minnesota Department of Health and the Joint Commission

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage company resources (i.e., budget and personnel)
  • Skilled in overseeing the efforts of high-level department individuals and vendors.
  • Innovative thinker: Ability to contribute innovative ideas that support organizational goals
  • Skilled in computerized business applications, (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF editor programs)
  • Skilled in modeling company values through daily interactions within the department, particularly with regards to health and safety
  • Capable of leading work in a demanding environment and willing to pivot when necessary
  • High standard of ethics, discipline, and professionalism
  • Skilled in fostering a positive workplace culture and building inclusive workplace teams
  • Knowledge in NFPA Life Safety 101 codes, Facility Guidelines Institute -Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities, and Infection Prevention Standards
