This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available. 

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Latin America Ad Sales Finance Department provides administrative, financial, and accounting support for the Sony Pictures Television Latin America division. The team works across all lines of business including Advertising Sales, TV Distribution, and Theatrical. Our team supports digital initiatives including revenues earned on YouTube, Social Media platforms, and FAST channels. The team is primarily responsible for billing and collections including revenue recognition, cash flow optimization, and financial analysis and reporting for LATAM. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will focus on the following key projects:

  • Assist with the Yay Pay A/R software implementation including tasks such as updating advertiser and agency profiles, workflows, and assisting with User Acceptance Testing
  • Work with the Ad Sales Billing and Collections team to generate invoices, account statements, and prepare cash applications
  • Prepare Agency incentive reconciliations to ensure accruals are properly updated quarterly
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of Digital revenues and expenses. 
  • Withholding tax certificate reconciliations
  • Assisting with the monthly close process by parking journal entries related to cash and receivables balances
  • Cash and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Preparing of monthly A/R status reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excel intermediate level
  • Excellent communication skills as this individual will have to work effectively with commercial, finance, and operations teams across the region
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, oral and written are required
  • Time Management and Organization
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Finance / Accounting background a plus
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • 2 years of relevant working experience

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
