What you’ll be able to do: 

Responsible for design and delivery of Power Conversion Devices in connection with Ford’s next generation of electrified vehicles. Participate in design reviews and worst-case circuit analyses in connection with our Power Conversion Devices. Perform root cause analysis and product revisions to resolve field issues per warranty or quality returns and will further monitor and drive robust root cause analysis from suppliers, including development of unique test methods to replicate failure modes. Perform design verification testing plans and execution and support next generation high voltage energy storage and distribution component designs. Evaluate electrical system engineering alternatives for various attributes, including cost, weight, package, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation, and functional analysis in collaboration with various cross-functional organizations. Collaborate with other Ford engineers, support change controls, report program milestone deliverables, and release core components in Ford’s Advanced Vehicle Bill of Materials system (“AVBOM”) and World Engineering Release System (“WERS”). Manage component design specifications, program timing, and build plans.

You'll have... 

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience developing products in the automotive industry. 
  • Also requires 3 years of experience: designing electrical components or electrical systems; packaging electro-mechanical components in vehicles; developing and managing failure mode effect analysis; supporting and managing Phased Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); and using Vector CANalyzer for data acquisition. 
  • Employee reports to office in Dearborn, MI. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
  • Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

We are offering a salary of $90,355 to $158,001 per year.
