JOB SUMMARY

The IT Project Manager II is responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross- functional strategic initiatives. This role helps to manage the portfolio of IT Projects linked to Avery Dennison functional and IT Strategic plans. This role is expected to work with project teams to ensure project efforts are executed in accordance with the defined organizational project standards, which align with industry best practices. This is an individual contributor role managing matrixed teams, and requires leadership and influencing capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the oversight and reporting of strategic initiatives in the IT project portfolio
  • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit Directs large- scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners to support the PMO
  • Accountable for one or more initiative 
  • Rigorously manages project portfolio scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters
  • Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other project related expenditures
  • Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities
  • Serves as a PMO SME in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives
  • Represents project in various project governance and inter-department forums
  • Tracks milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on functional BU portfolio 
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for improvements to project charters, project methodology execution, and related project management artifacts
  • Validates periodic status reports
  • Proposes recommendations and adjustments

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Project Manager II (PMO)’s are responsible for monitoring enterprise wide cross functional global / regional IT project portfolio.
  • The portfolio contains a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, process engineering and infrastructure upgrade and deployment.
  • This role will work with Project managers, Program Managers and Directors.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong language skills in English are required
  • 3 to 6 years of Project Management Experience in a Multinational Manufacturing Company preferred
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or technology
  • PMP / PRINCE 2 certification preferred
  • Professional certifications and training including Six Sigma / ITIL or Lean are desirable
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, mobilize and motivate team: set direction and approach: resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace: execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
  • Solid influencing skills
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to remove barrier and enable teams to complete their objectives
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • Exemplary core management skills including multiple aspects of PMBOK
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management and SDLC methodologies and tools
  • Should have meticulous attention to details and accuracy
  • Should have excellent Team work and interpersonal skills

  • Should have good written and oral communication skill.
