Clever is on the lookout for an experienced and motivated professional to enhance our Accounting and Finance team as a Senior Accountant. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership qualities, a high level of attention to detail, and an expert understanding of US GAAP accounting principles. This senior role involves strategic oversight and execution of financial processes, including revenue, accounts payable, prepaids, intercompany, and other various areas as needed. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager. The position offers a significant opportunity for leadership and career advancement within our dynamic and evolving team.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Oversee daily financial transactions, including core revenue, company expenses and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Lead the management and improvement of Accounts Receivable processes, including conducting collection efforts for overdue accounts and reviewing aging reports for accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Direct the preparation and issuance of monthly invoices, ensuring compliance with contract terms and revenue recognition.
  • Resolve complex billing disputes and payment discrepancies, applying advanced problem-solving skills to protect financial interests.
  • Manage and optimize Accounts Payable processes to ensure timely and accurate payment cycles and cash flow management.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the month-end close process, including detailed reconciliation of key financial accounts such as accrued expenses, prepaids, receivables, and payables.
  • Lead bonus calculations and the commission calculation, capitalization, and amortization process.
  • Perform company wide payroll processing.
  • Manage intercompany balance reconciliation and billings.
  • Lead the preparation of 1099-Misc filings and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Act as a primary contact for external audits and tax preparation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Drive special projects that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in a senior accounting role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and a strong ability to apply accounting principles in practice.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software and systems.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a focus on detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Proactive, with a strong initiative and the ability to work independently and lead a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting and to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:

The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $88,000-94,200. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $96,800-$103,600. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
