What You'll Do

  • Working in the field to experience the applications of NDT in the construction material testing industry
  • Performing daily set up and calibrations of NDT equipment, under the supervision of a Level II or Level III
  • Performing tests on materials in accordance with written procedures to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using various NDT methods, under the supervision of a Level II or Level III
  • Reading and interpreting structural and shop drawings, part schematics and job specifications.
  • Preparing field reports, NDT reports, and sketches.
  • Observing and participate in other materials inspection methods (i.e., Timber Framing, High Strength Bolting, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Reinforced Concrete) as deemed necessary

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nondestructive Testing or Materials Engineering with a focus on NDT
  • Completed classroom training for at least one of the volumetric methods: either Radiography or Ultrasound
  • Ability to obtain Level I Certifications in one or more of the following methods: Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
