Fearless is looking for an IT Help Desk Intern to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting!).

What you’ll be doing

Fearless’ internship program provides college students and recent graduates with real-world experience in and knowledge of the government tech industry. This 10-week program is a full-time, paid, hybrid internship that will give you not just technical skills, but a broad variety of professional skills, such as interviewing, creating resumes, and networking for job readiness. 

The IT Help Desk Intern will assist Fearless’ IT Manager with supporting Fearless team members with troubleshooting. The IT Help Desk Intern will do this by offering technical support. There will be opportunities for the IT Help Desk Intern to gain skills in and provide more specialized IT support (e.g., security, engineering) depending on their areas of interest. You should apply for this position if you’re curious about a career in IT. The IT Help Desk intern will learn to navigate the Jira ticketing system. By the end of the 10-week program, the intern will be able to build a Jira help desk from top to bottom!

Responsibilities and Contributions:

  • Works under the guidance of Fearless’ IT Team to support our IT strategy, supporting team efforts on the IT help desk though ticket support and resolution. 
  • Provides input on IT projects and activities. 
  • Assists team members with general software and hardware requests. 
  • Supports Fearless’ primarily remote workforce with exceptional customer service.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Has taken classes in Business IT or similar field. 
  • Familiarity with Google Suite/Workspace, Google Products, Apple Products, PCs, and Microsoft applications. 
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic software and hardware-related problems.
  • All candidates for this role must be active students at CCBC.

Icing-on-the-Cake Skills 

  • IT certifications (high school or college level). 
  • Demonstrated experience providing IT help desk support. 
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to network administration and maintenance.
  • Exposure to hardware and software installation and configuration.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate is $18/Hr.
