Support Center - Irving

The Senior Pricing Coordinator plays a critical role for the smooth functioning of promotionally driven Michael's Stores and eCommerce businesses. Under the general supervision of the Manager or Supervisor of Pricing Operations, the Senior Pricing Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing the regular, promotional and clearance prices throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce).

Major Activities

Price Management and Execution

  • Be the subject matter expert on the various intricacies of the systems and business processes for effectively managing pricing throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Manage the pricing including Regular, Clearance and Store-specific over the entire life-cycle of the SKUs across various systems to proactively manage SKU’s that require price changes or markdowns throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Review, edit and approve the price changes in the various systems including DEMANDWARE, PPA, RPO, CO, CODI, RMS, RPM, Retek, and SAS-RPO
  • Coordinate with partner teams to execute correct prices throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce) to avoid promotion conflicts
  • Build and approve Seasonal Clearance prices to support the out-of-season clearances throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Coordinate with Pricing Managers to execute correct test prices to stores and eCommerce to avoid promotion conflicts
  • Proactively resolve impending store and eCommerce issues that take the store associates away from serving the customer by partnering with the responsible teams including eCommerce Operations, Store Communication, Marketing, Pricing Managers, Store Signage, Category Management, Inventory Planners and IT Support
  • Provide metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the various processes for further improvements

Promotions Management and Execution

  • Be the subject matter expert on the various intricacies of the systems and business processes for effectively managing the Promotions throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Build, version and support promotions in various promotion vehicles (eCommerce, Printed Ads, Interactive Ads, Unadvertised In-store Promotions, Loyalty Offers, Daily Deals, Emails Offers) running during assigned ad week
  • Manage the submission and approval of unadvertised and Deeper-than-Ad promotions and coordinate with Visual Merchandising for store signage
  • Determine the need for additional promotions based on unique regular and sale pricing for various promotions based on the Store/Zone and eCommerce pricing
  • Build and approve Seasonal Clearance promotions to support the out-of-season clearances throughout the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Proactively ensure that the Ads submitted for various promotional vehicles are effectively executed by partnering with the responsible teams: eCommerce Operations, Store Communication, Marketing, Ad Printer, Pricing Managers, Store Signage, Category Management, Inventory Planners, and IT Support
  • Perform scan audit in the store on the items in the assigned Ads to identify issues and resolve those with Marketing and Category Management before the Ads are processed by the stores; coordinate with Canadian contact regarding Canadian specific promotions

Support Stores and eCommerce customers (including weekends & seasonal holiday coverage)

  • Be on call and/or, in the office and work with eCommerce Operations, eCommerce Help Desk, Stores Help Desk, IT Support, Category Merchants and Store Managers in researching and resolving SKU pricing issues while ensuring that corrections are transmitted at the earliest to the chain (stores and eCommerce)
  • Address the stores and eCommerce tickets related to prices that arise from a myriad of sometimes complex reasons due to system and process interdependencies

Leadership and Cross-Functional Activities

  • Influence matrixed resources to ensure eCommerce Pricing and Promotions activities blend with Store Pricing and Promotions activities to provide a seamless experience to the customer
  • Support the crucial Pricing and Promotions Execution meeting and prepare all documentation for regular, promotions and clearance pricing to be discussed for ensuring that prices and promotions are approved in a timely manner for the chain (stores and eCommerce)

Item Attributes & CDTs (Consumer Decision Trees)

  • Manage the Item Attributes system and business process along with making the right set of decisions related to the complex Consumer Decision Trees (CDTs)
  • Use the Item Attribute, PIM and other necessary systems to ensure the accuracy of these attributes
  • Conduct reviews with the Category Management and Pricing Managers across the multiple departments to resolve issues related to the Item Attributes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

  • High School degree

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Microsoft Office (proficient in Excel)

Minimum Type of experience the job requires

  • 6 or more years in a retail environment

Other

  • Be available on Saturday, Sunday, and Seasonal Holidays to resolve Store and E commerce pricing issues.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills

  • Working knowledge of eCommerce systems such as Demand ware and Retail systems such as RETEK, RMS, RPM, SAS-RPO, Clearance Optimization (CO), and PIM
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Access and/or SQL Programming
