Summary of Job Duties:

The Social Media Intern - Video will specifically focus on producing video content for the social media accounts for the Sam M. Walton College of Business including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube including quick on-the-spot videos with students, student spotlights, alumni spotlights and more.

This role will also be responsible for working with the dean and director of marketing and communications to create video content to be utilized on the dean's social media accounts including quick walks with the dean and alumni, students and industry partners as well as special messages from the dean.

This role will also involve working with social media analytics, specifically on YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram to measure the success of the work.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Current student at sophomore level or above at the University of Arkansas pursuing a degree in Multimedia Storytelling and Production, video and audio production, journalism, communications, marketing, Advertising/PR, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic Field Production using a video camera, audio, and editing principals.
  • Able to conduct on-camera interviews and appear on camera for other video needs (such as social media videos)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Adobe Premiere and/or Adobe Final Cut Pro
  • Basic use of Adobe After Effects
  • Strong writing skills for writing captions, titles and other SEO friendly pieces of content on the web
  • Experience in managing a YouTube or Instagram account that incorporates specific content for the channel such as reels or shorts
  • Experience in working with social media analytics, especially YouTube analytics

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Skilled and comfortable in on-camera work and pulling people for quick on-the-spot interviews without hesitation
  • Working knowledge of basic marketing principles
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, visual)
  • Strong ability to edit and check the quality of your work
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain a multi-project load
