About This Role:

Forrester is seeking a Social Media Intern to support our corporate brand and demand strategy and operations. In this role, you will work across the marketing team to execute on social brand and demand campaigns — and take a lead position in areas like scheduling/publishing, community management, content creation/review, social research, and analytics/reporting. You will work on social programs that build reputation, engagement, and community for the Forrester brand and drive demand among customers and prospects, particularly with leaders across technology, customer experience, and marketing functions.

This role requires a blend of analytical and tactical skills to best support and manage Forrester’s global social media presence. A strong understanding and passion of the social media landscape, trends, and platform is a must. Reporting to the senior social media manager of corporate brand and demand, the role will operate in close partnership with the social media team and sometimes collaborate with the global marketing and demand marketing teams, as well as key cross-functional teams including sales enablement, research, and events.

Job Description:

  • Owning key social operations such as:
  • Scheduling and publishing organic content to Forrester’s corporate social media channels, both natively and via Sprout Social.
  • Managing the North America editorial calendar.
  • Using Sprout Social to perform day-to-day community management (e.g., monitoring and response) across the corporate social media channels; listening and engaging in relevant social discussions (about our company, competitors, and/or industry) from existing customers, prospects, and target audiences; flagging new opportunities for the brand to support, interact, and respond.
  • Supporting our employee advocacy social operations, including scheduling and publishing content to Sprout Social’s advocacy platform.
  • Taking a lead in social content development:
  • Submitting copy and creative requests to the respective teams and reviewing drafts for critical feedback prior to publishing.
  • Acting as a self-starter in writing appropriate social copy in collaboration with content owners and demand program leads (as needed).
  • Observing the evolving social media landscape:
  • Spearheading competitor and industry research as it applies to the social media world (e.g., what Forrester competitors are doing on social lately, creative inspiration, new channel offerings/updates, etc.).
  • Updating our master specs document as needed to ensure all platform specs updates are communicated across internal teams.
  • Helping with social analytics and reporting asks:
  • Creating reports using performance data from Sprout Social and other native or third-party tools
  • Being able to analytically look at data to draw observations and make strong recommendations on how we should strategically evolve our content.
  • Identifying new opportunities on how we can better measure and report on social performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree within marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience in social media marketing is preferred; B2B marketing, brand marketing, and demand marketing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in working on successful social media marketing campaigns with a focus on growing audiences and delivering on engagement metrics (B2B experience is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of the social media vertical, publishing, content creation, social distribution methods, and social analytics.
  • Knowledge on how to leverage social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube for the purpose of driving brand awareness, thought leadership, and demand.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Sprinklr) and within native social media channels.
  • Knowledge of the best practices and current design needs/restrictions across LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Curiosity about the social media vertical’s constant evolution and how we can apply it to Forrester’s social growth.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail with work and tactical executions.
  • Strong copywriting and copyediting skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft apps and services (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with managing paid social advertising campaigns is a plus.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and YouTube Analytics is a plus.
