Job Summary 

This is a mid-level position that provides day to day architecture oversight, technical solution design, and manages delivery of Azure technology solutions for applications in Data & Digital portfolio. The applicant must have engineering and design experience, Azure knowledge and experience with integration, system analysis and programming, including developing Azure systems requirements and design specification.

Responsibilities 

  • Review and prepare system architecture specifications and documents
  • Coordinate and perform logical and physical systems design
  • Provide technical direction to personnel performing systems analysis and development tasks
  • Perform internal design and code review to ensure that solutions effectively meet business objectives while using innovative, high performance solutions
  • Enforce quality standards for engineered solutions and promote continuous improvement
  • Act as lead in problem resolution discussions 
  • Manage and mentor technical members on the team
  • Proactively manage issues/risks and escalate them as needed
  • Interact with the business through requirements analysis and design sessions
  • Act as primary liaison with on-shore and off-shore outsourced IT development teams
  • Maintain a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business, and a focus on quality and service
  • Interact with production support personnel to ensure that critical and major production issues are resolved in a timely manner

Skills

  • Experience with Azure technologies like Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure App Service, Azure Function, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL etc.
  • Experience in application and data architecture designs using Azure technologies
  • Works with business leaders to identify problems which can be solved with predictive modeling
  • Identifies the data needed to solve the problem, whether it is our internal data or information needed from external sources
  • Works with Chubb and/or CICA data scientists to develop the appropriate model to solve the business issue
  • Partners with the business to implement changes based on model results
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Strong presentation & facilitation skills
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
  • Ability to effectively work with users of various levels from clerical to senior management
  • Experience with life and health insurance administration system processes
  • Experience supporting Data & Digital Solutions
  • Experience working in an outsourced environment
  • Experience coordinating development and testing activities with an off-shore team
  • Knowledge of systems development methodologies and project life cycles
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. 

OR

  • Equivalent work experience, including 3-5 years of working in an Information Technology job as a Technical lead/architect.
