We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Instructional Laboratory Technician I, Physical Sciences (Chemistry) position located at our campus in Menifee, CA.

The Instructional Laboratory Technician I, under the general supervision of the Instructional Dean of Math and Science and the direct supervision of the Director of Instructional Laboratory Operations, prepares the laboratories for class session activities in a face to face environment for the physical sciences. The incumbent responds to student questions and maintains a supportive and professional relationship with students, lead instructional laboratory technicians, and faculty. The Instructional Laboratory Technician I perform discipline-specific tasks.

Prepares solutions and other laboratory materials; maintains stockrooms; assists in the set up and break down of experiments, assists with receiving, and storing chemicals, laboratory supplies, and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1) High School Diploma; AND 2) A minimum of 12 semester units completed in physical sciences; OR 3) One (1) year experience working in an educational or research laboratory setting; AND 4) Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1) An Associate of Science degree in Physical Sciences or a related field 2) One (1) year experience working in an educational or research laboratory Principles, practices, procedures, and equipment of chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, and technical science. 3) A valid California driver’s license SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Prior to access to District vehicles, must complete successful enrollment in the District's Direct Pull program with the DMV Be comfortable working in a normal laboratory and office setting. Be able to lift 30lbs
