Admissions Coordinator

Merion Mercy Academy, an independent Catholic college preparatory school for girls in grades 9-12 outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, seeks a dynamic and student-centered professional who will participate and assist in all stages and aspects of the application, admission and enrollment processes. This is a twelve month, full time position with full benefits. The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for supporting student recruitment, admissions and enrollment efforts with a primary focus on departmental administrative tasks and management of student information systems and web-based platforms. The successful candidate will also oversee the Student Ambassador Program by coordinating and supervising the Blue Key Society (Merion Mercy's student ambassador program.)

Reporting directly to the Director of Enrollment Management, the Admissions Coordinator candidate should possess well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines as well as maintaining confidentiality, humor and grace under pressure are preferred.

Data Management

  • Manage the Enrollment Office's various technological platforms to ensure cohesion and consistency in admissions data.
  • Create all applications and online forms.
  • Create and run simple and advanced lists and reports.
  • Process all applications, inquiry requests, visit requests, event registrations, and application pieces.
  • Track and enter visit and event attendance (e.g., Open House, Morning at Merion, Eighth Grade Visits, etc.).
  • Create, populate and maintain applicant spreadsheets (minus financial aid), including applicant decisions.
  • Assist with tracking office budget lines and submitting receipts.
  • Maintain and provide statistical reports concerning inquiry, application data, and enrollment data.

Application Support

  • Organize and maintain pieces for electronic application folders.
  • Process and enter HSPT (High School Placement Test) scores.
  • Participate in the admissions decision-making process (student observations, supporting committee work, and release and management of decisions).

Communication

  • Answer office calls and emails not handled by Admissions Counselor.
  • Reminders to families about events, application deadlines.
  • Point person for all mailings (email and post).

Visitors

  • Coordinate the eighth-grade visitor program.
  • Provide materials for visitors (nametags, folders, etc.).

Events

  • General support in planning for and execution of all Admissions events.
  • Prepare materials for all school visits and high school nights.

Student Ambassador Program

  • Coordinate and supervise the Blue Key Society (Merion's student ambassador program).

Qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Excellent technical skills including the ability to manipulate and manage data in multiple spreadsheets.
  • Experience with Google workspace.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Educational Management system preferred.
  • Independent school/girls' school experience preferred.
