Institutional Client Platform Product Manager, Senior Director, Global Institutional, Manulife Investment Management

Job Title: Senior Director, Global Institutional Client Platform

The Institutional Client Platform Product Manager will report to the Global Institutional Head of Distribution Enablement. He or she is responsible for the ongoing development and management of Institutional Client 360, the institutional client platform and database that our sales, client service, product, marketing and key stakeholders use to drive sales & client service delivery.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Management Client Platform Product Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data and digital initiatives within our institutional business. This role requires solid understanding of asset management business, institutional distribution and servicing, strong technical and project management skills, a deep understanding of data management, analytics and governance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development & Management: Lead and manage institutional data and digital platform product development from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, risk and compliance guidelines, and quality standards. Develop and maintain project status reports, metrics, and dashboards to track project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Data Management & Governance: Partner with global data and advanced data analytics teams to develop and implement data strategies and governance framework for effective institutional data management, including data collection, cleansing, validation, sales data projection, analytics, and ongoing data maintenance. Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Business Requirements and Implementation: Collaborate with IT and distribution teams to gather and prioritize requirements for digital enablement tools and capabilities. Identify opportunities for digital enablement and sales optimization. Analyze data and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of sales enablement initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvements. Apply industry best practices, current trends, and innovation to address client requirements for high impact initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: Work with IT & procurement to oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring timely delivery of digital-related services and solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with institutional data projects, including data privacy, security, and operational risks.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, client services, investment management, finance, marketing, advanced analytics and IT, to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure alignment with business objectives and priorities. Act as a liaison between business users and IT, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of institutional distribution and service delivery. Conduct regular assessments of existing tools and technologies, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that enhance sales productivity.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Work with training and development to provide training and support to end-users, ensuring a smooth adoption of new digital tools & sales enablement capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as product manager / product owner, or similar role in asset management technologies or related domains. Institutional Investments domain experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of institutional sales & client service processes and workflows, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales enablement technologies, and solid understanding of the full suite of Microsoft application and services, including PowerBPI, Power Apps, Copilot and Sharepoint.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex client data projects, including data migration, integration, and transformation initiatives.
  • Project management skills to oversee the implementation of digital capabilities and ensure timely delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to effect change and adapt to a dynamic and evolving business environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or quantitative related field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics is required. Other advanced degree in finance or engineering or MBA or equivalent experience, professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CFA) a plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years in project management and product delivery experience, preferably in asset management industry.

Primary Location

Salary range is expected to be between

$114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD
