Job Details:

This position is responsible for overseeing the department under the direction of the production supervisor. This person will help complete necessary paperwork, perform audits, and other various duties to help keep production running efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage safety, food safety, and productivity.
  • Manage department labor including job rotation assignments, labor efficiency, and labor adjustments as needed by applying contract rules for labor movement.
  • Assist with maintaining downtime sheets and OEE boards
  • Assist with and coordinate product changeovers to maximize uptime and ensure process control
  • Assist with the training of new and transferred people by utilizing standardized work.
  • Assist with the management and timely usage of raw materials and rework.
  • Assist with management of SAP.
  • Perform various audits of rework, safety, and food safety in order to ensure compliance.
  • Perform various audits of the processes on the raw and pack side to validate the adherence to quality standards, and to help drive reductions in giveaway, rework, and inedible.
  • Summons maintenance as necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of all jobs within the department to include set up and tear down of equipment.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have the ability and demonstrated skills necessary to work well with all levels of the organization. (Employees, Supervisors, Superintendents and Managers)
  • Must possess and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimum direction.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and possess good multitasking abilities to handle various tasks and/or projects.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to perform HACCP and perfect package checks as necessary.
  • Ability to complete all paperwork and SAP functions as required for position. Prior computer experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
  • Must be able to occasionally reach high and low levels.
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift/lower/carry up to 20 pounds with back and legs.
  • Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 10 hrs.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs several times per hour required.
  • Ability to work in wet and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
