Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal customers and in-depth knowledge of their business processes

  • Contribute to system decision-making, scoping, and arranging Finance system projects in support of the overall Finance strategy
  • Partner with the Finance team and other key stakeholders to define business system requirements while managing stakeholder expectations, developing best practices, solving problems, and implementing improvements to the PeopleSoft financial applications.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, working proactively with process owners, end users, and leadership
  • Serves as point of contact for Finance business involving the development, implementation, and testing of system improvement.
  • Takes ownership of assigned work, providing high-quality deliverables per the project schedule
  • Provides escalated assistance to users experiencing technical issues or needing additional guidance and
  • Analyze core business processes, create gap analysis documentation, define workflows, gather requirements, and evaluate available solutions to help service partners solve their technology needs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, service partners and other IT professionals, to frame an integrated solution and translate conceptual vision using new and existing products. This vision will then be communicated in a clear and detailed design package that includes business requirements, processes and workflow documentation, conceptual database models, use cases and service requirements.
  • Support the UIT development team with service requests, prioritization and other duties as assigned.
  • Identify pros and cons, risks and benefits of solution alternatives and make recommendations
  • Serve as a resource to customers, other Business Analysts, Project Managers, Data Analysts, testers, developers, and others

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.

As a Business Analyst, you be working closely with leaders, stakeholders, and service providers from the Utah Technical Colleges, the Commissioner’s Office, and University of Utah UIT to plan the IT application support strategy for the technical colleges. You will analyze core business processes, create gap analysis documentation, define workflows, gather requirements, and evaluate available solutions to help service partners solve their technology needs. Working with cross-functional teams, service partners and other IT professionals, you will frame an integrated solution and translate your conceptual vision using new and existing products. This vision will then be communicated in a clear and detailed design package that includes business requirements, processes and workflow documentation, conceptual database models, use cases and service requirements. Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • SQL: 1 year (Preferred)
  • PeopleSoft: 3-5 years (Preferred)
