Summary: 

The Child Mind Institute seeks an experienced and proactive Video Manager to guide and accelerate the execution of the Child Mind Institute’s video content strategy. The ideal candidate is a smart, well-organized and flexible team player with exceptional project management skills and has the ablilty to manage complicated projects and see them through to delivery and promotion. 

With a creative and forward-looking spirit, this project manager/ producer role is a partner in all aspects of Child Mind Institute video development from RFP and pre-production to overseeing shoot day logistics, managing approvals, and coordinating with video production and media partners. The Video Manager will organize video content, develop and manage the video content calendar, and plan and coordinate video production in consultation with Marketing/Communications Leadership, Editorial and Digital content teams, as well as other internal stakeholders including Clinical, Development, and the Office of the President. 

The Video Manager will be responsible for quality control and timely execution of 250+ videos/ year for critical ongoing projects including clinician profile videos, Project YouTube (our strategic channel building initiative), patient stories, interdepartmental training videos, and our annual Mental Health Awareness Month celebrity video campaign each May. The position will also be called upon to execute and/or arrange for urgent and ad-hoc video projects to help the Child Mind Institute take advantage of fast-moving press or relationship-building opportunities (such as a recent World Mental Health Day panel with children, the Surgeon General and Second Gentleman). 

Reporting to the Creative Director in the Marketing and Communications department, this is an exempt, full-time, hybrid position located in our NYC headquarters office. This role requires at least four days/ week in our Mid-Town NYC office, however the role requires flexibility and being physically present for all NYC-based video shoots and recordings which may require being in-office five days on some weeks, often with short notice.

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the Marketing and Communications subject matter expert on video content and video production for the organization
  • Lead the vision for the organization’s video strategy, partnering closely with Marketing and Communications leadership
  • Triage and manage all aspects of video projects for the Marketing and Communications Department from concept development through post-production and delivery, including vendor communications, talent prep, stakeholder approval process
  • Partner with Social Media Manager and Web Producer to publish and optimize videos as needed for greater visibility/ search traffic
  • Oversee “Project YouTube” (75+ public education videos annually in English and Spanish)
  • Oversee and manage the process for clinician profile videos for all new clinicans coming into the practice (working closely with Clinical Marketing)
  • Oversee annual Mental Health Awareness Month (20-30 videos)
  • Oversee all inter-departmental video requests including videos supporting events, training, research symposiums
  • Triage and manage all adhoc video projects that arise, some of which may be on tight deadlines
  • Organize and update Digital Asset Management System and Youtube channel (working closely with Digital team)
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables and budgets to ensure all work stays on schedule and within budget
  • Monitor engagement and report on video insights and analytics on a monthly and per project cadence 

Qualifications: 

  • BA/ BFA degree in communications, marketing, film and video, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in video production at a creative agency or within a video production environment, or equivalent
  • Technical proficiency with video shooting and editing
  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be comfortable working on projects with limited budgets, as well large-scale productions with significant resources
  • Knowledge of digital media formats, sizes, metadata, file conversion
  • Knowledge of YouTube and video optimization strategies
  • Excellent project management skills, organization, planning, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Ability to work at events that may occasionally occur on evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
