Job Requirements

A key member of the Global Life Strategy & Corporate Development Team, this role is responsible for supporting the team and Executive Leadership lead priorities linked to strategy, planning, corporate development, and executive agenda as set by our Executive Leadership Team.

The role will report directly to the Head of Strategy & Corporate Business Development but will also be expected to work effectively with key stakeholders across the organization.

The role requires a high level of maturity, forward thinking and self-discipline; be expected to operate at a high level of professionalism and be skilled at stakeholder, relationship and project management to drive strategy collaboration and execution across the wider organization.

Role and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Corporate Development

  • With the Head of Strategy & Corporate Business Development, serve as the primary internal strategy consultant and advisor to Chubb Life’s Executive Leadership team
  • Translate ambiguous strategic goals and issues into clearly defined problem statements to influence business growth and profitability
  • Support the formulation of Life’s strategic ambition linking longer term strategy with short term execution priorities to deliver consistent growth
  • Lead independent analysis, as well as providing strategic framework and analytical support to Executive Leadership and Country Presidents on areas including
  • Distribution (Agency, Partnerships, Bancassurance, Direct Marketing)
  • Customer segmentation and value management
  • Products and Services, Propositions
  • Competitor and Market Entry Analysis
  • Industry trends and best practices, amongst others
  • Partner with Corporate M&A team & Chubb Life Partnerships team for analysis and support, including market-monitoring; screening / targeting research; due diligence of active opportunities; and deal business case development
  • Monitoring of life insurance market M&A and venture investment activities
  • Drive process for regular in-depth market intelligence, competitor analysis and trends
  • Execute on special projects and ah-hoc leadership requests

Planning and Strategic Execution

  • Support business growth and facilitate business strategy and operational execution
  • Execute the strategic planning process in partnership with the Finance team, including five-year and annual plan to the Executive Leadership Team and Corporate where necessary. Identify opportunities for improvement where able
  • Identify and drive key strategic initiatives, and assist in developing pragmatic solutions to strategic and operational issues
  • Support Country Presidents and teams by preparing Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR / QBR); identify key strategic and execute priorities to drive business growth and profitability, including clear KPIs and management information reporting across the organization. Hold teams accountable for their deliverables
  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team; build close relationships with the whole organization to better understand challenges and offer advice based on scenario planning for the best possible outcomes
  • Share insights to positively impact important decision-making through cross functional leadership
  • Ad hoc project support for Life’s President and other leaders on various projects

Work Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in life insurance or financial services industry
  • Excellent analytic skills with ability to distil complex data into clear and relevant narratives to enable leaders make actionable business decisions
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills, ability to communicate and connect easily, dealing with complex, ambiguous, and fast-changing situations
  • Excellent project management skills, ensuring multi-priority deliverables across any area of the business, are met to a consistent high level of quality, against agreed timelines
  • Ability to work independently, quickly and be adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Strategy, strategic planning or management consultant experience highly preferred
  • Mandarin or Korea reading and speaking capability desirable
