Background and Rationale
MOH in Collaboration with USAID Local Health System Sustainability Activity LHSS developed a competency framework CFW to classify the required competencies for each member of the inter-disciplinary team working within the ICU including Intensivist, ICU Nurse, Nutritionist, Pharm-D and Respiratory Therapist. LHSS supported the development of CFW Instruction Guide including the operational definitions for each competency to clarify the mechanism for using the CFW. Furthermore, LHSS, in collaboration with the MOH, selected a group of supervisors and heads of intensive care units in three selected hospitals (AL-Basheer hospital, AL-Karak and Princess Basma Hospital), and trained them on the instruction guide and using the competency checklists to assess the current competency level of HCPs within interdisciplinary team in the ICU.
The baseline assessment includes a combination of knowledge assessment: Pre and posttest competency-based knowledge evaluation for Nursing, nutritionist, RT and pharmacist. In addition to clinical skills assessment for nursing and RTs: Supervisors selected a set of the most common and applicable technical competencies and completed the baseline assessment.
LHSS is seeking a consultant to perform statistical analysis of the baseline assessment results, and the final evaluation results for HCPs after they conclude their training for the four disciplines as below:
1- pharmacists pre test and post test – 50 HCP records.
2- nutritionist: Pre test and post test evaluation – 16 HCP records.
3- Nursing: pre test and post test , in addition to Clinical assessment of 29 technical and 3 core competencies for 80 HCPs.
4- Respiratory therapy: pre test and post test , in addition to Clinical assessment of 22 technical and 12 core competencies for 45 HCPs.
Goal:
"To analyze and validate baseline/final evaluation results for four disciplines in three hospitals and draft a report with findings and trends and recommendations.
