The Apex Group is looking for an Assistant Team Leader to join our inclusive and collaborative Accounting Team in Ebene, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. As an Assistant Team Leader, you will provide guidance to juniors on day-to-day tasks. You will also handle accounting matters as delegated by the immediate and subsequent reporting line(s).

In your first few weeks in this Assistant Team Leader role, you can expect to:

  • Review work for juniors
  • Liaise with clients, as required
  • Ensure that accounting-related matters required are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Team Leader, you will be responsible to:

  • Handle accounting matters as delegated by the immediate/subsequent reporting line(s). Liaising with clients, as required.
  • Ensure that accounting-related matters required to be completed are performed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Handle statutory audit, Annual returns, APS returns, PAYE return, TDS returns and VAT returns, as required.
  • Preparation of accounts in statutory format including all applicable disclosures and arranging for sign off of accounts / management accounts.
  • Preparation of Capital Calls, Distributions, Capital Account Statements and investor reporting. 
  • Attend statutory filings of financial statements / return of income / tax returns with statutory bodies.

To apply for this Assistant Team Leader role, you will need a degree or has substantially or partly completed ACCA or equivalent and 4+ years of working experience in a Global Business Sector/Accounting/Audit firm or equivalent. You will also require the following:

  • A client service mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict timelines when required
  • Highly organised, with very high attention to detail in a digitised environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
