Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Deposit and post incoming payments from bank wires, checks, cash, lock boxes against customer accounts accurately and in a timely manner by identifying the correct client account, determining an appropriate billing system for posting the payment.
  • Research and accurately allocate payments to outstanding invoices. 
  • Ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted by performing daily payment reconciliations through bank and system reporting.
  • Compile daily cash control report to reconcile deposits with posting of payments.
  • Maintain documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with The Post’s policies and accepted accounting practices.
  • Research unidentified payments by contacting bank, internal stakeholders or customers/clients to determine posting to accounts accurately.
  • Process non-automated payments by scanning checks, counting cash, and making bank deposits.
  • Provide excellent customer service regarding payments inquiries, accepting cash/payment deposits from internal and external business partners.
  • Assist with other A/R projects and other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school degree required; college degree preferred.
  • 3+ years billing, collections, and accounts receivable experience
  • Knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger systems and accounting principles
  • Proficient Excel skills: knowledge of billing/GL (Oracle, SAP) systems is preferred.
  • Banking knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform data entry tasks thoroughly and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, detail orientation, and customer service skills
