The School Recruitment and Placement function is part of the School Workforce Directorate. The team manage school workforce recruitment and placements and provide support and strategic advice to principals and executive on workforce management. The function is accountable for supporting schools in relation to all permanent and temporary/casual school-based vacancies including teachers, support staff and student wellbeing staff.

About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to support the efficient and effective management of school related vacancies in accordance with the related policies and procedures. This will include recruitment of teachers and Support Staff in schools as well as student wellbeing.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

  • Have excellent time management and multitasking skills and be able to work in a very busy and fast paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Have impeccable communication and customer service skills, a positive can-do attitude and be accountable.
