Background information

The IT Solution Delivery Hardware team at ASML is responsible for configuring, maintaining and updating electrical/firmware applications that are used by the ASML electrical developers worldwide. The Hardware engineering ART (Agile Release Train) consist of 5 teams with a multidisciplinary set of highly experienced colleagues in their field of expertise. The biggest challenge nowadays is to keep all Legacy tooling available for the lifecycle and maintenance contract on the ASML machines (25+ years).

Your assignment

For the HDL (Hardware Description Language) Design flow the current environment is depending on legacy applications that need to be replaced. These applications are translating an XML file that contains the tool specific environment variables that are used for launching different development tools, versions and environments.

During this internship, you will:

  • Write an XML/JSON parser in Python.
  • Developing a GUI to update configuration files.
  • Clean up migrated applications versions from the old XML files.
  • Investigate and implement data management solution for this new configuration file.
  • Test, validate, and document your code. 

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor/HBO student in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or something related;
  • Are experienced in Python, Linux and XML;
  • Preferably have knowledge about Perl and/or GIT;
  • Are a self-starter, have strong communication skills and are proficient in the English language.

This is a bachelor/HBO apprentice internship (non-thesis), for minimum 5 months, 5 days per week (2 to 3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
