Kimberly-Clark’s North American brands have invested nearly 30% more on social media in the last year alone. Because of that, we’re looking for a social-first leader with a successful track record of growing and managing a social media agenda for large brands. The Associate Director of Social Media will own social strategy development, setting best-in-class standards across the North American business and input on the creative development of our brands’ social presence from a campaign, always-on and agile cultural moments. 

In this role:

  • Serve as KCNA enterprise expert in social marketing 
  • Partner with brand teams to define approaches and content plans in the social space, to support of brand growth strategies. 
  • Deliver relevant cultural and social platform insights to support brand presence and maximize relevance with consumers 
  • Support brands and social agencies to maximize talent, relationships, and performance 
  • Partner with Paid Social and Integrated Media leads from KCNA and Media Agency to define and measure standards of excellence in execution specific to social platforms 
  • Support brands in developing the most relevant and compelling – fit for platform – content to drive equity, engage consumers, and build cultural connection and relevance for KCNA brands 
  • Partner with Influencer capability leads to ensure seamless access, management of the creator community and drive content deployment at scale 
  • Drive future ready strategies and tactics in social activation, including via social commerce opportunities 
  • Establish and lead approach to leveraging insights via social tools; translate the insights into real-time activation ideas / execution to deliver brand objectives. 
  • Determine approach to monitor & report competitive activity (including 3rd party tools) & help develop appropriate brand response. 
  • Build, pilot, scale & maintain an active backlog for leveraging AI for social insights, performance monitoring, content optimizations & competitive intelligence. 
  • Drive connectivity between brand social presence and voice with consumers and community management, quality/consumer care efforts. 
  • Serve as KCNA subject expert for Social and Culture Marketing across the industry – represent KCNA as appropriate in industry leadership forums. 
  • Partner with marketing capability team to design & execute trainings / learning sessions that help raise ‘Social Marketing IQ’ of K-C talent. 
  • Establish best-practice for defining social media KPIs, on-going tracking, and reporting; own all analytics and reporting across social channels, interrogate results to assess and optimize performance, identify trends, and outline key learnings and recommendations. 
  • Be a social steward across the org and serve as the go-to subject matter expert in the business, helping influence the enthusiasm for social media across the organization while keeping atop emerging technologies and trends.

Influence:

  • This person will engage with our external agency partners and Brand Marketing teams to influence social media strategy and creative content best practice. Daily engagement with SBMs/BMs and weekly/monthly with GMs. 
  • Collaborate across our Advanced Marketing Collective teams (Enterprise Media, Integrated Media Strategy, Design, Influencer, Community Management, etc.)) and our agency partners to ensure social is integrated into comms plans, adhering to content & media best practice, and properly incorporated into performance reporting. 
  • Partner with I&A and our external agencies to define best-in-class social media KPIs and measurement approach.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or related field 
  • 7+ years’ experience in a relevant social role, with a minimum of 3+ years in a strategic or client services role on a social team (not just community management or social production) 
  • Background in social content strategy, organic, paid and earned/influencer marketing with a history of developing social strategy and driving results across all facets of social media management, including social listening, community management, content strategy, and analytics. 
  • Deep understanding of the social media landscape and social platform algorithms. 
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills; ability to inform, influence and negotiate across functions and with all organization levels. Ability to story tell well via PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with social listening tools and track record of applying listening insights to work 
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at various levels of seniority across a highly matrixed organization. 
  • Experience building and leading an solutions-oriented, results-driven team. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience writing creative briefs with ability to surface insights, track back to brand positioning, and define channels/formats for consideration. 
  • Experience concepting, creating, and posting brand content across owned social channels 
  • Ability to ideate and concept original ideas both independently and in collaboration with team members 
  • Experience within an agency is a plus
