Job Summary

The Executive Director reports to the Dean and is responsible for the overall operational strategic direction and management of the corporate and executive education portfolio including executive degree and non-degree programs offered, business development support, and office operations. The Executive Director leads the Corporate and Executive Education team in collaboration with designated faculty directors, executive education faculty and subject matter experts, industry partners, and Drexel/LeBow stakeholders including university corporate relations team and other colleges at the university to ensure quality, relevance and experientially focused content and programs. They will support the design and launch of new executive education programs as well as growing current custom and open-enrollment programs.

The Executive Director will develop and manage delivery and client relationships and assist in cultivating the corporate community. In conjunction with College leadership, university corporate relations team, and designated staff, the Executive Director develops and implements a corporate cultivation plan to enhance the relationship of the corporate community with LeBow College of Business and increase revenues.

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Direction /Business Development/Revenue Generation
  • Oversee the Corporate and Executive Education program portfolio and assume responsibility for meeting revenue and enrollment targets based on the College’s strategic plan.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities in the marketplace and collaborate with development leads and launch of innovative corporate learning solutions that contribute to the growth and profitability of Executive Education and the College.
  • In coordination with College leadership and Drexel Solutions Institute, support lead business development activities and build strategic alliances and partnerships that support delivery of solutions and result in revenue-generating programs.
  • Engage with faculty and clients to understand, identify and translate client needs, envision and articulate solutions for development of responses to RFPs, proposal requests, and initiate with team in contracting process.

  • Executive Education Program Development, Quality, and Delivery
  • Lead development, management and delivery of Executive Education (degree and non-degree programs) in collaboration with College/University-wide internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance high quality academic, student, and client experience of Corporate and Executive Education programs.
  • Conducts ongoing benchmarking and needs assessment of companies that result in proposed modifications to existing programs and executive education offerings as well as identification of new opportunities.
  • Oversee Executive Education program execution, leading operations team to ensure that agreed upon partner learning goals are met, and to capture learning for continuous innovation.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Executive Education staff.
  • Cultivate key stakeholder relationships including corporate partner relationships with existing and new partners, academic directors and managing director of executive degree programs, and executive education faculty, staff, and interdisciplinary learning teams.
  • Create strong partnerships with Drexel faculty and engage them in discussions about how to apply their expertise and research to serve partner needs.
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with student/alumni, identifying and executing engagement strategy with strong service culture, targeted events/opportunities, and in alignment with College/University.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Equivalent
  • 10 years relevant professional work experience with 5 years in executive education and/or adult learning required
  • The position requires a high degree of interpersonal and client management skills, marketplace awareness, innovation and creativity, collaboration and consensus building, high-energy and good understanding of learning technologies.
  • Ability to represent the College effectively and productively throughout the University and community; supervise, develop, and motivate employees; work effectively with diverse parties and vendors; and understand complex plans, specifications and requirements of assigned functions.
  • Skills in oral and written communications to include effective presentation of complex data; ability to provide timely consultation and advice to diverse stakeholders and clients; utilization of software programs relevant to the functions assigned; effective problem-solving and mediation; and development of realistic and thorough specifications, plans and proposals.
  • Applicant should demonstrate a successful track record of program development, faculty engagement and integration, program delivery, and outcomes assessment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering custom executive education programs preferred
  • Strong client management, sales/program customization, negotiating skills.
  • Able to set stretch goals and execute appropriate strategies to achieve the goals.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade P. Compensation for this grade ranges from $129,850 - $194,770. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
