Sr. Associate 

Job Description: 

This professional will be responsible for strategic support of the valuations effort and its related functions globally across Blackstone’s opportunistic and core+ strategies. The Senior Associate will play a key role in Blackstone Real Estate’s valuations effort. This will involve a) coordination of the execution and outcomes of U.S. valuations, b) consolidation and analysis of global valuations outcomes, and c) execution of summary valuation-related materials and analysis. The role will involve partnership in coordinating key internal and external processes, consolidating and analyzing outcomes and metrics as well as delivering supporting documentation and materials to internal and external stakeholders. This professional will work closely with members asset management, finance, fund-specific and portfolio company teams to execute and enhance the overall valuation process and deliverables globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Product and Investment Knowledge: Become proficient in Blackstone Real Estate’s global funds and investments, with particular focus on valuation practices.
  • Valuation Outcomes and Assumptions: Work collaboratively across teams and vehicles to analyze and present valuation outcomes produced from a discounted cash flow approach by property, investment, market and/or sector, globally, to drive thematic monthly or quarterly valuation results.
  • Valuations Process: Partner with asset management, finance and portfolio companies to coordinate and deliver monthly and / or quarterly internal valuations. Assist with the proper closure of key third-party processes, including appraisal, independent valuation advisor and audit.
  • Internal Reporting: Oversee and execute quarterly valuation materials and supporting analysis to present results, requiring the aggregation and synthesis of large sets of data both internally and externally.
  • Special Projects: Support global special projects relating to valuation strategies and process, new products, appraisals and third-party service providers.

Qualifications: 

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:

  • Strong technical background in valuations-related role (preferably in execution of DCF valuations)
  • Ability to execute files and presentations in fast moving and dynamic environment
  • Inquisitive /critical thinker
  • Collaborative; ability to have conversations directly with asset management and other stakeholders on behalf of valuations-team to drive outcomes
  • Organization skills / ability to appropriately manage competing priorities
  • Can take notes and distill to senior leaders in crisp and clear format
  • Team player, excellent interpersonal skill

Expected annual base salary range:

$160,000 - $175,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
