Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Cox Family Office Finance Team is hiring a Senior Accountant role to assist in support of the Finance Team, including the management of day-to-day accounting related activities. The Senior Accountant will be based in Atlanta. In-office days will be required.

Vital to the role is the ability to communicate clearly, problem-solve, and prioritize family/team needs while maintaining organization as a dedicated team player. This individual will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting in the Finance Group. He/she may collaborate with the additional teams within the Family Office. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Process invoices and payments. Gather appropriate approvals to ensure payments are made in a timely manner. 
  • Prepare cash transfers for processing when requested.
  • Perform bookkeeping activities including month-end journal entries and reviewing accuracy of transactions in general ledger.
  • Professional service fees tracking and reporting.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, resolve issues timely, and ensure balances are properly supported and explained.
  • Assist in monthly financial statement preparation and ad hoc financial statement requests.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors to optimize billing/payment processes and establish a best-in-class accounts payable practice. 
  • Assist with a variety of ad hoc requests and projects from the finance team and the family relations team.

The right person for this role must be able to multi-task and thrive in a collaborative environment. They must be resourceful, hard-working, and passionate about client service and delivering best-in-class service. They must be open to continuous learning and feedback. Discretion and judgment are highly important, as is the desire to be a proactive self-starter.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and process improvement mindset
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge a plus
