The EVP - Senior Lending Officer will focus on the daily management of Genesis Capital’s lending and sales teams to achieve Genesis’ strategic goals, including but not limited to client acquisition and origination activities, product/service expansion, wallet share growth, client experience/satisfaction and credit performance. 

This role will collaborate consistently with colleagues within sales and lending on both new and existing client strategies and loan opportunities. Internally, the EVP - Senior Lending Officer will serve as a point of contact and escalation from other departments, including playing a pivotal role in the prospect and borrower/loan production pipelines, working alongside other departments to create efficiencies and a streamlined process.

Additionally, the EVP - Senior Lending Officer will engage with customers as needed to ensure they receive excellent customer service. The EVP - Senior Lending Officer will report to and communicate real-time with the Chief Lending Officer, partnering on the execution of strategic initiatives for the sales and lending teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with senior leaders within Underwriting, Valuations, Construction, Legal and Operations as an escalation point to identify solutions and ensure interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Provide oversight and support to Sales & Lending teams, specifically Lending Team Manager(s), Loan Originators, Corporate RMs and Client Acquisition & Business Development, on near and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the development, mentorship and coaching of sales and lending team staff
  • Participate regularly in Lending and Sales Team meetings for loan and client opportunity review and adherence to Front End Guidance and Lending Policy.
  • Coordinate regularly with Lending Team Managers and colleagues within other departments on pipeline management and production projections
  • Monitor portfolio management activity to ensure Loan Officers are performing their duties as required and/or coordinating with other team members as necessary as it relates to sponsor renewals, delinquent payments, reporting requirements, construction issues, etc.
  • Monitor pipeline performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Participate in industry seminars and conferences.
  • Perform other functions and assist with other projects as assigned by Chief Lending Officer

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 15 years in commercial/construction lending and credit roles, or equivalent.
  • CA Real Estate license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating new client relationships.
  • Excellent customer service skills, relationship management capabilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience managing multiple direct reports from Sales and Credit.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written, presentation & communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and solid business instinct and judgment.
  • Strong collaborative skills, able to build partnerships and alliances internally and with external partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interface with high-powered clients and their teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and desire to travel as needed to visit clients and/or participate at industry functions.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and take ownership of responsibilities.

Compensation Range: $200,000 - $400,000
